It’s a lovely new year, with many new days and months to create new adventures for yourself, your family, and your children. You can start over or keep things the same. You can make big or small changes, or appreciate the things that are going quite well just as they are. You have more time to appreciate life, to appreciate your children, and to delight in who they’re becoming. You don’t need to worry about what you didn’t accomplish last year or what you think you should accomplish this next year. You can appreciate right now. Each new day, month, and year you have together is time to grow together and love each other. Your children will learn new things every single day. You will also learn new things every day. Enjoy your new year!

Marcia,
Thank you for your blog! I’m currently vacillating between being unbelievably excited and completely terrified about home/unschooling our five-year-old only son. Granted, he can already read, add, write fairly well, etc, which should prove tome that I’m doing just fine, but it’s a scary leap into the idea of “officially” (haha) unschooling. Your blog has given me the confidence that unschooling an only child CAN be done, and with excellent results. My type-A uber-organized, perfectionist brain still spins at the “how”, but I’m sure we’ll get there! 😉 Thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks for writing, Tina! Congratulations on all the new adventures that await you. It’s a life full of wonderful possibilities, and yes, sometimes it’s scary, but mostly it’s fun and exciting. All the best to you! ~ Marcia
